Welcome to A Suite at Kitsilano Cottage!

Yes! You can again enjoy our wonderful suite.

Under a new business model, we are offering only longer stays. From now on, the minimum stay duration is 30 consecutive days or longer. Come and stay, relax and enjoy.

This award winning business was started in January of 2000. My beloved wife, Sally and I started this business in order to enjoy working together. In early 2000 most residential accommodations in Vancouver were working on the traditional Bed & Breakfast model. We decided that we would like to offer something similar, but more private. We wanted to offer the sort of accommodation we would most prefer, when we frequently travelled. Without a lot of examples of our vision available locally or in many of the places we travelled to, we found joy in innovating a way of offering those travellers who preferred residential accommodations something unique and special.

The business was well received and we found strong demand, online, for our approach. With experience we found the business evolving as we got feedback from our valued guests. Our motivation was to always assure our guests found their time with us to be, at the worst, good and at the best a positive memorable part of their time in Vancouver. We made it a priority to ensure that guests felt valued and well cared for at our home.

Sadly two years after launching A Suite @ Kitsilano Cottage, Sally lost her brief and intense battle with cancer. Following some time to grieve the loss, I decided to continue the business in loving memory of Sally and dedicated myself to making the business the best it could be. Several books of guest comments and unsolicited online reviews attest to the success of this commitment.

Hi Christopher

We've been home for a couple of weeks and now that the jet lag has subsided we wanted to write to tell you how much we enjoyed staying in your beautiful suite.

Our stay was wonderful and perfect, and we wish that it could have been longer than four nights. We especially enjoyed your extremely genenous breakfast provisions, and meeting your lovely dog Destiny was an added bonus.

We'll definitely be back sooner rather than later and of course we will never stay anywhere else!

Kindest regards and thanks again,

Dani Cox and Terry MacKenzie, Brisbane.

The first word that popped into my thoughts when I first walked through the front door was felicitous. And felicitous it has been! While I’ve missed my children, at home in Ottawa, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the serenity of your beautiful suite. Thanks for delicious array of fruit + and all the other ‘extras’

What a comfortable home and neighbourhood! We especially enjoyed the original artwork. The accommodation provided a much appreciated peace. When I awake, the view of the four bowls and pitcher set, in the window, just made me feel euphoric – hard to explain, but it worked magic.

Thank you for your hospitality

We were very pleased to find such warm, inviting, comfortable accommodation here, after finding this place over the Internet. We have had a great couple of days to relax and unwind – only wish we had more time here.

Thanks for the special touches, fruit, coffee, bread. After a long flight, with 3 children, this was most appreciated. We hope to come back to Vancouver again, one day, as we loved Stanley Park & the sights.

Many thanks for a wonderful and comfortable place to stay! This is my 6th trip to Vancouver and has certainly been the most homey!

We will be back & sure to recommend the suite to friends here and at home!

Thanks for a relaxing, homey place to stay while in Vancouver. I took a bike around Stanley Park, (fortunately my research told me I had to do this anti-clockwise) and back via the Sea Trail. It appears a friendly neighbourhood, safe and well kept.
The attention to detail, (flowers, bread, fruit etc.) were a bonus. So thanks for the effort put in on this respect. All in all, a perfect setup here. I hope it continues for many other to appreciate.

Many thanks for such thoughtful hospitality.

The cottage proved ideally convenient for our family and provided a gracious base of operations, for our discovery of this truly beautiful city. While Vancouver is on of the most spectacular places to visit, it is still a city and the cottage provided not only a base but a refuge. In this respect, all of the special touches you provided eg. … fruit, tea, made the place more comfortable and a real retreat. Thanks very much.

We have very much enjoyed our foray into this area of Canada and these final days have been no exception. You have kind compatriots and a splendid environment in which nature and creation abound!

Just a quick note to let you know how much we enjoyed staying in your lovely apartment. We loved all the little touches – fruit, …. , coffee, tea, bread, rolls, flowers, good magazines, Kiwi shampoo & just an excellent location. (Oh, we also liked our outdoor sitting area!) This was our first visit to Vancouver & we very much appreciate its beauty & fun loving feel, (especially the Kits area). We have vowed to return!

What a wonderful home away from home during renovations to our condo!

The beautiful flower arrangements, the fruit, …., bread all helped to ease the stress involved in home renovations. A nice, quiet refuge to return to, at the end of the day. Pushkin’s “attentiveness” also helped...

Thanks!

It snowed on the 27th. Snowflakes were as big as the goose feathers in my down comforter, back home in San Diego. I never lived anywhere that snows in winter, yet I never felt more “at home” than that day. The sun shined through the window today. Anthony brought Pushkin into the living room. Can you think of a better way to start the day?

The place is wonderful. I especially love the fully equipped kitchen. It really made this place feel like home. Can’t wait to see the place in summer when its filled with flowers.

Christopher;

Bruce and I just wanted to thank you for our wonderful stay Nov 4th and 5th. The suite was ideal. The location is great and the suite was cozy, private and very comfortable. The baked goods, fruit and treats were a pleasant surprise. The visiting cat was a bonus. (We have a very spoiled 20 lb tabby at home). Once again thanks. We hope to stay with you again.

Hi,

Just a quick note to say Thank You

We stayed at your suite in the 1st weekend in Dec. and we had to leave at 5 in the morning, so we never had time to say thank you properly

It was a wonderful place to stay, hopefully every time we come to Vancouver we will be able stay there.
I forgot to leave something for the girls that clean, but you can tell them they do a great job. I will catch them next time. The baked goods and fruit was also a wonderful treat.

Can't say enough good things about our stay there.

Hope you and your family have a great holiday season.

All the best
