Flesh of the Gods (https://deadline.com/tag/flesh-of-the-gods/) has entered production in the Canary Islands, Spain, with the second half scheduled for Cologne, Germany, after a 80s-set vampire thriller starring Kristen Stewart and Wagner Moura. The film features new additions: Esmé Creed-Miles (A Head Full of Ghosts), Roland Møller (Citadel), and Alba Baptista (Voltron) as part of Panos Cosmatos’ buzzy genre hit. Stewart and Moura will portray Raoul and Alex, who descend into a surreal world during their night-time adventures.
Esmé Creed-Miles, whose recent role in Something Beautiful (https://deadline.com/tag/something-beautiful/) showcased her talent, will soon play opposite Daisy Edgar-Jones in Georgia Oakley’s Sense and Sensibility for Focus Features. She also plays lead roles in Veronika Franz’s A Head Full of Ghosts alongside Rebecca Hall for Lionsgate. Last year, she co-starred in Stewart’s debut, The Chronology of Water.
Møller, known for his Oscar-nominated war drama Land of Mine, stars as a breakout actor in Citadel and Atomic Blonde. He’s also seen in Papillon, Skyscraper, and the Amazon spy series.
Baptista will appear in Voltron, opposite Henry Cavill and Sterling K. Brown, while repped by UTA and Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Creed-Miles is repped by WME, Independent Talent Group, and Omni Artists.
This collaboration between Cosmatos and XYZ Films marks a fourth joint venture, following their previous work on Miley Cyrus’ Something Beautiful, which was released at the Tribeca Film Festival last year. The film is written by Andrew Kevin Walker, based on Cosmatos’ story, and produced by Hyperobject Industries, Augenschein Filmproduktion, Nevermind Pictures, and XYZ Films.
